Outpatient Consultation and Services:

The outpatient clinic is located in the basement of the OPD Block LGB. The mission of the hospital is to provide comprehensive, high-quality care to patients and their families. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, new patients are seen; on all other days (Monday through Saturday), existing patients are seen, with the option of interdepartmental referrals at any time. The tumour board for patients is held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The department is a participant in the hospital-based National Cancer Registry programme administered by the Bangalore-based "National Centre for Disease Informatics and Research."

1. Head & Neck Oncology Clinic.
2. Paediatric Oncology Clinic.
3. Breast Clinic.
4. CML and GIST clinic: Patients are enrolled into the GIPAP programme through which they are offered Tab Imatinib free or at a reduced rate depending on financial status.
5. Pain and Palliation Clinic. Patients are assessed jointly with the Anaesthesia Department and drugs prescribed. Morphine has been made available to the patients.
6. Tumour Board: Monday, Wednesday, Friday afternoon.

Under the supervision of a physician, a dedicated professional nurse administers chemotherapy and targeted therapy. The Day Care Unit for Chemotherapy is fully equipped with chemotherapy chairs, monitors, and a biosafety cabinet. Chemotherapy regimens are conducted in conformity with internationally recognised standards. From April 2020 to March 2021, 900 chemotherapy infusions were administered with the utmost care in accordance with Covid-approved protocols.

In the basement of (ABB Ward) A block, 30 beds have been set aside for the patients. From April 2020 to March 2021, 126 patients were admitted and cared for. It was when the institute was designated as a dedicated Covid facility in August and September 2020, inpatient services were disrupted.

In November 2020, we relaunched our Radiation services for the patients.

As Acting Head of the Department, Dr. Pritanjali Singh is in charge of all administrative and academic activities related to the department. Aided in the acquisition of a hexapod for the department, allowing for the precise execution of the treatment plan

• A painting competition was held on the occasion of Cancer Awareness Day on November 7, 2020.
• On the 5th of February 2021, an oncology awareness event for females was conducted at Patna Women's College.

• Oncology classes for Post-graduate students – The department has started post graduate training from the session 2019-2022, with 2 PG trainees at present, in the form of daily rounds, 3 classes per week, one each for journal club, clinical syllabus and radiobiology & radiophysics , and once a week case presentation.
• Oncology classes for nursing Students.
• Oncology classes for MBBS Students.
• Ward teaching for postgraduate and undergraduate level.
• DNB oncology classes for Mahavir Cancer Sansthan students.
• Faculty of (Indian College of Radiation Oncologist) ICRO Training course.
• Departmental Journal club and planning meetings.
